This 2-day workshop will discuss dance science and how to incorporate safe dance practices into your studio. Topics include: warm up and cool down for varied bodies; knee function in plié; pelvic placement and its role in upper and lower extremity movements; proper stretching for hypermobile and non-hypermobile dancers; preparing for inversion work; and dancer screenings.

Topics include: leadership styles; what makes a good leader; who can lead; effective communication; conflict resolution; motivation and initiative; adaptability and adjusting to change; accepting and giving feedback; and building a positive team culture.

This workshop discusses the function of the ankle joint, considerations for mobility, and strengthening exercises for dancers.

Learn the action of the knee in various movements. Discover misconception about knee function in dance while also learning exercises to improve knee stability.

Increasing spine movement is essential for dancers in many dance genres. One area of the spine that is difficult to access is the thoracic spine (upper region of the spinal column). This session will focus on improving the movement and flexibility of the thoracic region and its impact on dance training particularly in modern dance positions such as high curve and high release.

This workshop introduces dance educators to the principles of myofascial release and how it can support healthy movement and injury prevention. Through guided practice dancers will explore safe, effective strategies to release common areas of restriction including the feet, calves, hips, and upper back. This session introduces the anatomy of the hip joint and the deep rotator muscles, highlighting their role in achieving healthy and efficient turnout (external rotation). Participants will gain a understanding of how these muscles support alignment and stability in dance, along with practical exercises designed to improve rotator engagement and strengthen turnout in training.

Practical tools for physical recovery, mental wellness, and sustainable teaching practices will be shared to help educators maintain longevity and joy in their careers.
