Join our Leadership Academy
Leadership is more than holding a title—it is the ability to influence others, build trust, take initiative, and contribute positively to a team and community. The Brazos Emerge Teen Leadership Program provides students with opportunities to develop these skills through hands-on, arts-based leadership experiences. Throughout the program, students learn practical leadership strategies, apply them within their teams, and take their learning beyond the studio through a community service project that they design and lead. Through guided reflection, mentorship, and real-world leadership experiences, students develop greater confidence in their ability to lead others with purpose, empathy, and accountability. Students who successfully complete the program will earn a Brazos Emerge Leadership Certificate, recognizing their commitment to leadership, service, and personal growth.
- Leadership Development: Students explore communication, conflict resolution, initiative, leadership styles, teamwork, and strategies for building a positive team culture.
- Leadership in Action: Students apply what they learn by planning and leading a community service project from beginning to end, giving them an opportunity to experience the responsibilities and rewards of authentic leadership.
- Community Engagement: Students identify a need within their school or community and develop a service project that allows them to use their leadership skills to make a meaningful contribution.
- Reflection & Growth: Students reflect on their leadership experiences, challenges, decisions, relationships, and impact throughout the program, helping them recognize areas of growth and develop greater self-awareness.
- Leadership Certificate: Students who successfully complete the program requirements, including active participation, reflection, and the community service project, receive a Brazos Emerge Leadership Certificate recognizing their development as a student leader and their commitment to service.
